NEW DESIGN
These brushes are the result of a slow and extensive research work made by Kimera into the best possible brushes for miniature painters.
Each of our brushes, from the seemingly common to the strikingly different, has been customized according to our specifications to meet the uses and expectations of the artist, whether it be a professional in need of the best tool for their work, or a novice seeking to facilitate their own learning.
KOLINSKY BRISTLES
At the core of each Kimera Brush lies the excellence of Kolinsky sable bristles. This
type of natural hair is celebrated for its exceptional performance and durability. We have selected for you only the hair with the best characteristics for painting miniatures: elastic and rigid at the same time, capable of keeping your brush tip as solid as possible.
LUXURY HANDLES
Crafted in Italy by the worldâs finest handle maker, these handles boast a varnish finish that feels incredibly comfortable in your hand giving you both a good grip and a smooth sensation
to the touch. They become a true extension of your artistic expression.
HANDMADE IN ITALY
A brush is a highly complex object that demands great attention to detail, especially in a field like miniature painting, where even tenths of a millimeter can lead to substantial variations in performance.
No technology today can achieve the required precision, which is why our brushes are entirely handmade in Italy by experienced professionals with decades of expertise.
SUPERIOR QUALITY ASSURANCE
The only way to ensure consistent quality in an artisanal production, where the human factor is crucial, is through careful quality checks. We conduct this in three different stages. First, during individual brush creation, then a bulk check by an expert at the productionâs end, and finally, a different person inspects when the packaging is being finalized.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BRUSHES
Properly cleaning brushes can double or triple the lifespan of your brushes. Our Italian Kimera Olive Oil Soap not only cleans your bristles but also aids in maintaining shape and repairs damage, like nourishing oils do for hair. To use, wet the brush, rub it on soap until the color discharge stops, rinse, and lay flat to dry. Donât let your valuable brushes go to waste!
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
The lifespan of a good brush depends not only on its quality but also on various factors, such as how clean you keep them and the more or less aggressive use they undergo. Certain techniques, such as stippling or a particular way of forcing the tip, can reduce its lifespan. Use brushes closer to the end of their lifecycle for these types of techniques and avoid accumulating paint near the metal part.
ROUNDED BRUSHES
A CLASSIC REVISED
The size no.1 brush has always been the most commonly used one, typically the favorite of most artists. We wanted to create our version of this primary tool, studying a shape that fits miniatures painting. Tapered, sharp, with a generously sized reservoir to hold as much color as possible while retaining a great tip
VERSATILITY
The elongated shape and the ample quantity of bristles allow for use in various situations, from the ultrafine lines of its fine tip to the long transversal or circular brushstroke.
Its precision will not make you feel the need to change the tool even for the minutest details.
MICROPAINTING
Where the number 1 brush canât reach, we enter the preferred territory of our brushes below size 0.
Both possess a lengthy and slender design, firm bristles, and a more modest reservoir, enabling precise paint pickup for crafting intricate brushwork in challenging spaces, often present in miniatures.
SUPER SHARP DETAILS
The fineness of our detail brushes makes them resemble flexible needles, with which you can create extremely fine lines or dense and tiny dots.
Incredibly useful for freehand painting, blacklining, painting eyes and other super tiny details.
ARROW BRUSHES
BOLD STROKES
The arrow combines the characteristics of a short flat brush, a long round brush, and a precision brush all in one tool.
Experiment with various movements that you can achieve simply by changing the direction, pressure, amount of paint, and its dilution. Itâs a simple brush to use but with a lot of hidden powers.
THIN STROKES
By filling the reservoir generously with well- diluted paint, only moderate pressure is needed to spread the bristles, creating a kind of âspatulaâ that is useful not only for creating thick and wide brushstrokes, but also as a âblending toolâ.
Similarly, by loading the brush lightly and relying on the narrow side, you can create incredibly fine and precise lines, as well as dots and textures
PERFECT TIP
Experiment with the behavior of the tip, both flat and on its side, and you will find that you can manage different but always very precise brushstrokes.
With all this potential in a single brush, with a bit of practice, you will be able to manage different forms of brushwork continuously, expanding your expressive possibilities.
ONE STROKE SHAPE CHANGE
We ourselves are convinced that we have not yet discovered all the potential of this new tool.
Perhaps you will be the one to uncover them.
